12/26/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Sunday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 26. December 2013 19:36

I hope all you had a wonderful holiday with friends and family.  Ours was very nice.  It was a lot different with a newborn, that's for sure.  It always takes us several carloads with just the two of us to deliver presents and food that I made.  However, now it takes even more preparation!  You can't forget the diaper bag, jammies, formula, bottles, bibs, swaddle, or pack and play!  It was a memorable Christmas all the same having our son for the first time.  My husband and I both have large families and after about an hour and a half on both days, FJ just got overstimulated.  Once he started screaming his head off he couldn't stop.  It took a tight swaddle and dark and quiet room to finally get him fast asleep.  He fell asleep at about 6:30 and other than one feeding at 2 am both nights he slept until 8:30 am!  In fact, he was so tired on Christmas Day that he pretty much slept the day away.

How did you do with holiday food?  It's crazy around this time of year isn't it?  Again, don't beat yourself up about it.  There's not turning back now - the damage is done.  Just work out a little harder and more frequent this week.  How did I do you may be wondering?.  I did GREAT (lol this is where you may want to insert a few explicit words my way).  I offered to bring a salad to both houses on Christmas Eve and Day.  That way I ensured my kind of dressing and veggies were there.  I also brought my Jenny Craig dinners with me both nights.  I was determined to stay focused.  I haven't been able to work out this week because we have had way too much going on but I will get back to it this week.  I'm going to be thankful that this week I have at least maintained my weight.  In all honesty I brought homemade sugar cutout cookies and "chips galore" cookies (which were both fantastic!) and only had a bite of each.  I'm pretty proud of myself! :)
