1/31/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Monday

You hear a lot about my husband and my trials and tribulations of having a newborn.  I think it's also worthwhile to talk about the amazing benefits of having a baby.  Maybe you're contemplating having children but my blogs have scared you off.  Wink  Our son is engaging more often, laughing and now giggling.  I can't imagine how fun it is to play with your child and experience this.  I can't stop playing with him.  During church it takes all my effort to focus and stop making faces at my son.  He's just constantly trying to smile at either my husband or me.

He's so alert and smiles at everyting; this will melt your heart.  I constantly kiss his face and he now looks up searching for more kisses when I pull away.  He consciously is trying to grab my hair and lips.  All of these things are indescribable.  Just being able to start seeing some of his milestones is one of the neatest experiences.  When he gets fed the rice cereal now he's able to open his mouth and reach towards the food and actually swallow some!  Even though I'm exhausted when FJ wakes up in the middle of the night there's something so incredible about snuggling and rocking while he's getting fed.  I actually think I will miss that when he gets older!  He's had a few nights where he's starting to sleep through the night (but, don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about this!).  Having a baby is one of the hardes most rewarding things I've ever done.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  I never knew I could love like this.
